Preventive Services
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We encourage regular dental check-ups, cleanings and home care. Early detection of problems minimize the expenses related to major tooth repair.
Dental care is not a luxury, it is a necessity for your health and longevity.

Exams and consultation
On your first visit, we will go over your past dental history with you and address any questions. A comprehensive dental exam will be performed, which includes a full mouth exam, x-rays (panoramic and bitewing), and oral cancer screening with Velscope.
Cleanings
Regular dental cleaning will help maintain your oral health and ensure any developing problems can be detected early. Hard plaque deposits, also known as calculus, will not come off with brushing and can lead to gum disease. Cleanings every 4-6 months is recommended for optimal prevention.
Gum Disease
Gum disease, or periodontal disease is an infection of the tissues that support the teeth. It is the major cause of 70 percent of adult tooth loss, affecting three out of four persons at some point in their life. With proper gum care and treatment, gum disease can be reversed and prevented to help keep your smile healthy for a lifetime.
Sealants
Some areas of teeth are harder to clean than others. Tooth sealants are thin surface coatings applied on the back teeth to prevent decay. Studies have proven that properly applied sealants are 100-percent effective in protection from cavities. Sealants are painless, take only a few minutes, and will last for years. They are most effective when placed on children ages 5-14.
Preventive Care
Prevention is your best line of defense. Your hygienist will explain what you need to do for improved oral care at home and will answer any questions you might have. You will also receive a new toothbrush and a floss sample to take home. The next check-up appointment is scheduled. Check-ups should be done every 4-6 months for best oral health.
