NOT ALL HEADACHES ARE STRESS-RELATED
If nothing seems to solve your headache problem, it may be a dental problem. Headache is the #1 complaint of “TMJ” sufferers, but patients seldom think of consulting a dentist about headache. Malocclusion (a bad bite) can lead to excessive muscle tension which in turn can cause head and neck pain. If you have “tried everything”, call today for an introductory consultation. We have had special training to allow us to rule in (or to rule out) your bite as the cause of your problem.
Diagnosis
- It starts with mouth impressions to make models of your teeth
- We take a series of x-rays that show your jaw joints
- Then TENS therapy is done
- A registration of your bite is taken to make a corrective orthotic of your mouth
Treatment
- In 2-3 weeks you are brought back to have TENS therapy again
- Then your orthotic is seated in your mouth
- We evaluate your progress 3 – 6 months later and discuss need for additional treatment
- Treatment options may be required to permanently alter the bite and eliminate the orthotic
